A Path To Leadership

After ITDF implemented clean water for the village, our partner foundation - ITDF set out to form a deeper partnership with villagers. They began by introducing them to ITDF’s Hands to Heart Women’s Cooperative Project (HHWCP) and the potential sustainable income it represents.

The first step of this process is always relationship-building. ITDF meets with village leadership, does a lot of listening and walks together with the elders. Once interest is sparked, open discussion and a community survey follows. ITDF learns what skills the women would like to develop while at the same time honoring their beautiful ancestral craftsmanship.

The Lanna Foundation can’t wait to see all the creativity, dignity, and opportunity that grows from this relationship.
